Every human being is an artist, a freedom being, called to participate in transforming and reshaping the conditions, thinking and structures that shape and inform our lives.
This statement by the German Artist Joseph Beuys brings up the questions of who is an artist? What is art? And how are we all responsible for the creative process of shaping the society in which we live? To answer these questions US based artists Rebecca Parker and Ted Efremoff are inviting citizens, students, philosophers, environmentalists, musicians, visual artists, actors, writers, poets, filmmakers, architects, politicians and anyone who considers themselves a creative being to the 24 HOUR CONVERSATION. The performers aim to directly communicate with the audience in an open forum of creative discourse. This event is the second of a series of 10 annual performances, which will be streamed live on the web as well as transcribed into a book with communal authorship. The event is created to engage an international community and find common links between people and ideas. The first event was held in New York City in May of 2008 at chashama art space. The conversation will be in Bulgarian and English with translation provided. U.S. participants can join in the conversation by using the comment section of the 24hourconversation website. | ||
